Menagerie ("we", "our", or "us") is operated by Madcow Venture Company. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Menagerie mobile application and website (mymenagerie.pet).

Information We Collect

When you use Menagerie, we collect information you provide directly:

• Account information (email address, password)
• Animal profiles (names, species, photos, care logs)
• Care tracking data (feeding logs, weight records, environment readings)
• Location (used only to fetch local weather conditions for log entries — never stored or shared)

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and improve the Menagerie app experience
• Generate care insights and recommendations for your animals
• Contribute anonymized, aggregated data to exotic animal care research (opt-in)
• Send service-related communications (account, support)
• Send optional marketing updates (only with your explicit consent)

Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL), a trusted cloud database provider. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We implement row-level security to ensure your data is only accessible to you and household members you explicitly invite.

Third-Party Services

Menagerie uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase — database and authentication
• OpenWeatherMap — local weather data stamped on log entries
• Expo / React Native — mobile app platform
• Brevo — email communications

We do not sell your personal data to any third party. We do not allow advertisers to access your data.

Research Data

Menagerie may use anonymized, aggregated care data to contribute to exotic animal husbandry research. This data is stripped of all personally identifying information before use. Participation in research data contribution is opt-in and can be disabled at any time in Settings → Data & Privacy.

Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deletion permanently removes all your animal profiles, care logs, and personal information from our systems within 30 days. Anonymized research contributions that have already been aggregated into datasets cannot be removed, as they contain no identifying information.

Children's Privacy

Menagerie is designed for use by all ages under parental supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If a parent or guardian believes their child has provided personal information without consent, please contact us at hello@mymenagerie.pet.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights, use the in-app tools in Settings or contact us at hello@mymenagerie.pet.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of Menagerie after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
